Hey, I’m Jon Sladek

NOT. A. Politician.

Jon Sladek is a candidate for house. district 78 in Cedar Rapids

I’m running because I believe our community deserves leadership that is transparent, accountable, and committed to progress. I want to fight for the hardworking people of House District 78 and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed and thrive in our great state.

I’m running for the Iowa House because I believe leadership should be accountable, transparent, and focused on serving the people. I know firsthand the struggles of the working families, renters, and small businesses in House District 78 — I’ve been there. This district is full of hardworking, resilient people, but it’s also been left behind too many times by leaders who prioritize special interests over our community’s needs. We need leaders who take responsibility and show up when it matters most. Stewardship isn’t just a word to me — it’s the core of my values. To me, stewardship means caring for our resources, our neighbors, and our future, and we need leadership who lives by that. We have the power to change our state for the better, but it will take a collective effort — we need a strategy that unites all voters, not divides us. As a lifelong Cedar Rapidian and a small business owner, I know the unique challenges our district faces. I’ve worked in real estate, construction, and hospitality, and I’m committed to making sure everyone has access to affordable housing, better job opportunities, and a future worth fighting for. We need leaders who don’t just talk — we need leaders who act. I’m ready to stand up for our district, to fight for the values that matter, and to build a state that works for every single Iowan.
